Leica BLK360 Imaging Laser Scanner - The smallest and lightest imaging laser scanner available

Image
Leica BLK360 Imaging Laser Scanner The smallest and lightest imaging laser scanner available There are several reasons. One is that the laser is completely objective about what will get measured at a scene.  Everything within its field of view (line of sight) will be measured and nothing will be overlooked.  If the scanner can “see” it, it will get measured in vivid 3D.  The resulting point cloud can be used to create animated “fly-throughs” of the scene showing who could see what from where.   When using pocket tapes or other manual measurement methods the crime scene technician(s) will make many individual measurements to what they think is important  at the time .  As the investigation progresses, different elements within the scene may take on greater importance.  Those elements may or may not have been measured manually when the scene was documented.  Leica laser scanning provides a way to “go back” to the scene exactly...

3D Laser Scanning of Donnells Dam

Image
3D Laser Scanning of Donnells Dam 3D laser Scanning has become an excellent alternative to conventional surveying methods where there is an increased demand to capture topographic details quickly and safely; examples include under construction tunnels, highways, bridges, or railway lines. 3D laser scanning is an excellent tool for surveying tunnels (Hydro/rail/road etc), for applications such as design to as-built comparison of profiles, calculation of undercut & overcut, volume of concreting done post construction, checking of tunnel alignment etc. 3D laser scanning can be used efficiently for scanning proposed roads in hilly terrains which are normally inaccessible and can’t be surveyed with a total station due to high vegetation.. Donnells Dam is a concrete arch dam located on the Middle Fork of the Stanislaus River in Tuolumne County, California. The water impounded by the 291-foot (89 m) high dam forms Donnell La...

Shotam INSTRUMENTS SCAN REGAL THEATRE WITH GEOSLAM’s ZEB-REVO... SHOTAM INSTRUMENTS AND GEOSLAM FOR COMPLETE 3D SCANNING SOLUTIONS.     Regal Theatre is the oldest cinema in Connaught Place Area constructed by the architect Walter Sykes George. The theatre opened in 1935. In line with the current trends the theatre is getting renovated into a multiplex. For preservation/records the team of Mrs. Smita Mukhija (Avesana Architects) needed the exact 3D replica of the existing theatre. This could be done by scanning the whole theatre and then importing the point cloud image in specifically designed post processing software. This job was done by Shotam Instruments Private Limited (SIPL) by scanning that original structure with Geoslam’s Zeb-REVO 3D laser scanner. Shotam Instruments Pvt. Ltd. (SIPL) is a Delhi based firm incorporated in year 1999 (a subsidiary of P.S. BEDI Group). The firm was established with a vision to be the premiere service pro...
